Here are a couple of links to information you may find helpful: https://github.com/claudeheintz/LXWorkshop https://www.claudeheintzdesign.com/lx/tutorials.html It would help if you could let us know what computer platform you are on. The rig you describe should be straight forward to create in LXFre...

Key block fixture not showing text fields
With my two most recent plots a newly created key block, using a fixture with text fields checked to be visible, the symbol meant to show labels is correct but the text field labels are missing. I've tried various symbols and combinations of labels but nothing changes the lack of labels in the key b...

Using auto fill for multi universe DMX addresses
My latest plot uses five universes and I wanted to use Auto-Fill with the dimmer catagory to set DMX addresses using the 2.1 format (2nd Universe.Address #1 = 513). Auto-Fill treats dimmer like channel with subchannels in that it increments the number before the decimal rather than the number after....

Grouped fixture snapping off center
Working with the latest LXBeams I noticed that fixtures grouped with the gobo symbol snap to a position line slightly off center, as if they were snapping to the center of the group rather than the fixture. They keep the correct instrument number, so they are connecting with the position. Also, I've...

Ion Magic Sheet student request
A student working with LXFree and our new Ion board asked if the information from LXFree could be translated into a graphic form that could be imported to the Ion and become magic sheets. I laughed but then I got thinking. I agreed to drop the idea into this forum to see if others had similar though...

Not writing ASCII file
I can import an ASCII file with translation but when I try to "Save as" an ASCII file nothing happens. I've tried different options in the preferences and setup, downloaded and installed a clean version and done restarts and cache cleaning to no avail. This worked in an earlier version of ...

Report shortcuts and software update
I find I miss the Maclux ability to use keyboard shortcuts and copy/paste individual attributes while in a report. Is this something that could be included in LXBeams? Or is there a better way to alter information in groups of channels while viewing a report? Also, I noticed the "check for upda...
