LXBeams // Printing Section

Post by Keven »

Hi,

My question is concerning the printing in LXBeams (I know, an another topic on printing...). Is there a proper way to print some section of the plot only? For exemple, if I want to print a plot of the stage only, can I setup easily my document for this? I tried the different options concerning the center of the resize but it didn't work very well for me.

Maybe a feature like the «Artboards» in Adobe Illustrator would be nice! Differents sections could be created and printed separatly.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Regards.

The idea of setting custom pages is something that can be considered for future versions. It would be interesting to know how many users actually print their plot on multiple pages. These days it is so inexpensive to go to FedExKinkos or another print shop and get a full size print out that I wonder if people are still taping together pages like we did 20 years ago.

However, a solution for your needs is to export your plot as a PDF file. Then, open that PDF in Preview. Use the rectangular selection tool to choose the area that you want to isolate. Choose Tools->Crop. Then, you can print only the cropped part of the plot.

Indeed, I was thinking too much in a «LXBeams way»...

Thanks for your help!
