Scripting non-position elements

Post by blacklite »

Is it possible to script the addition of non-position lines/3D-objects ? Would be useful to have a script to automate the addition of Borders and Legs as 3D objects. Looking through all the scripting notes it seems like only positions can be accessed/created...

At the moment, it is only possible to access properties of lights or positions with a script, not create them. Are you thinking of the fly data import function which does create positions for every listed batten?

Thanks Claude,
New version has very useful scripts to create legs and borders in 3D.
Saves a lot of time.

I didn't have a chance to post a message here about the new build. It does expose more scripting functionality and includes new scripts for creating lines representing legs and borders.

LXBeams also adds the ability to create legs and borders through the Fly Data import function. This requires adding 3 columns to the csv import file and is documented in the online help (click "Menus", then "File Menu" and scroll down and there's a link to the Fly Data import page).
