Just upgraded to 5.3.4 and now all saved versions open in a small box, not full screen. Tried re-sizing manually but nothing works.

Can you describe the exact steps necessary to reproduce the problem?
What MacOS version are you using?
Can you e-mail a copy of one of the problem files?

Can you try the latest build v5.3.5 (14104.1) and see if it does a better job?

Same problem for me in 5.3.5.
When I upgraded, all of my plots show up in a small box in the
lower left corner.
If I start a new plot...same thing.
The + button worked once to enlarge it but then never again.
How can I get to use the whole work space?

Can you please post the version of MacOS where this problem occurs?
There may be a problem with XCode 10, which was used for the latest builds after v5.3.3 (14018.1). Later versions of LXBeams may have a problem with restoring windows when running on MacOS 10.11 and earlier. The solution for older operating systems is to use the previous release version 5.3.0.
You are welcome to email a copy of a problem file to see if it is something specific to the file.

There may be a workaround for <= MacOS 10.11. You can try the latest build of 5.3.5, (14108.1). It sacrifices restoring a window's size and location in order that the window appears properly.
I did not find a way to reproduce your issue. But I did see issues with restoring windows when running on MacOS 10.11.6. The current workaround avoids the issue. But, it may take waiting until Apple updates Xcode to 10.1 for a better fix.

The latest build, Version 5.3.5 (14109.1), should fix the issue of restoring window size on OS X 10.11 ( or earlier). Restoring the window position of a previously saved plot should now work as before.
