The help file says: When resizing an object by dragging one of its handles, holding down the shift key may constrain its size. For instance, this will cause an imported or grouped graphic to retain its original aspect ratio.
However, when I imported a graphic (.jpg), both through direct copy/paste and through format/insert/graphic from file, resizing it with shift pressed down did not retain it's aspect ratio but rather forced it to be rectancular (hence distorting it's aspect ratio). Is there anything to be done about it?
resizing imported files
Constraining an image to keep to its aspect ratio while dragging to resize it (holding the shift key) appears to not be functioning properly. It will get fixed.
For now, you can control the scaling in both directions using the measurements table in the Inspector's drawing tab. To restore an image to its original size, select it and then set the width% and height% to 100.
