Select Sunstrip into a drawing. Placed it on a low lighting position, turned on the beams and then try to set a focus height of 20' - locked up the app. Re-open the app and the focus is still set at 20', try to give intensity to the fixture and the app crashes. Maybe I'll just use a zip strip instead!

This should be fixed in the latest build of LXBeams 4.5.1 (11004.2). The underlying cause may have existed for a long time. It might not have been discovered/reported. Or, it might be something that just started throwing an exception with OS X 10.11.
When a light is pointed upward, there's no beam to draw on the floor. So, in the past the error might have been present without causing a noticeable problem. In any case, this is now trapped so it does not throw an exception.
