measuring

Post by lanternz »

Would it be possible to add a measuring tape to the toolbar that works in the navigator? I often use the line tool to measure and space things but it does not work for diagonal lines unless you get the info from the inspector - which I admit is no great hardship. A tape tool could also add guidelines like in Sketchup and snap to or show the handles for objects so that we could accurately measure center to center for example.

Is there a simple way to add the dimension to a dimension line? Maybe a "draw" box in the measurement inspector window?

Up until the most recent build, lines remained as they were created. A dimension line could have its style switched to dashed and it remained a dimension line, displaying its length. Likewise, a simple line could be switched to look like a dimension line.

In the latest build, if a simple line is changed to a dimension style, it is replaced with a dimension line that displays its length. A dimension line remains a dimension line, even if its style is changed. However, there is a command in the Convert menu to change a dimension line into a simple line.

In the latest version, the Navigator can be switched to display drag distance instead of dx/dy.

Thanks admin. Brilliant. Wish more people knew what a great app this is. Triangles and/or polygons next please. Currently using the app to develop the concept lighting design for the architectural lighting design for an $18 mill house. Seamless exports to .dwg or .dxf or .vwx would be the icing on the cake but the current .pdf option still works fine.
