Feature requests

Post by Tom_G »

Aloha!

Coming out of hiatus as a LD, I found myself pressed to get a design done in short order. I had none of the tools, aslide from a straightedge and an instrument template! A quick Google search, and I found this software. Fantastic!

That being said...

1. Scalable tool palettes. I quickly had more layers than fit in the window, and got REALLY annoyed at having to scroll up and down.

2. Detachable tool palettes. Having the tabs is OK, but I'd really like to see the layers, the measurements, and the instrument choices at the same time.

3. Customizable zero point on rulers. I expanded the drawing to a tabloid sized piece of paper, which left my rulers zeroed at some off-center point.

It's a fantastic product... easy to learn, and powerful enough to do the job. Mahalo!

The Navigator window has a popup menu that allows you to quickly switch between layers.

In the Inspector's document tab, under Ruler, there are controls for the "Coordinates" There are several ways to set the origin or zero point of the rulers.

[EDIT] Gotcha! I was looking under the tab with a ruler icon, and not seeing anything. You meant under the page info tab, the ruler button. Found it! Thanks!

That it does. And it's a lovely feature! It doesn't, though, let me look at a stack of layers the way the inspector window does. Maybe I'm layer-happy, but I use lots of them. 20+ isn't unusual for me. Having the inspector window large enough to see all of them would be really quite useful to me.

Yes, a resizable inspector window would be great, I agree.
With all parameters for movinglights and lots of layers It would simplify some.

My laptop screen is 1920 x 1200 pts so the inspector window looks quite tiny and I have plenty of room to expand it.
