Installing LXFree for Java on Windows 7

This is an outline process for installing LXFree for Java on Windows 7. You must have an administrative account that allows you to install software to follow these steps. Also an anti-virus program may alter the process or prevent it from completing.

First, follow the link that you received in the download e-mail.
Click on the first link: "Click here to download LXFree Java for Windows."
You should see a security box "Do you want to run or save UncompressLXFreeJava.exe from www.claudeheintzdesign.com"
Click Run.
You should see the download progress happen and when it completes you should see a message that says something like "UncompressLXFreeJava.exe is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer"
Click Actions.
You will get a message saying the system has little information about the program.
Click "Run Anyway"
The installer should run and you will get a message that says something like "Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer."
Click Yes
LXFree for Java should be installed and start running.

You can also try the alternate process where you download the compressed install file and open it manually. In that case, you would follow the second link on the download page. "Alternate: If you prefer to download and save the file rather than run it from the web, click here. "
Then you would see a message asking if you want to open or save lxfreejava.zip.
Click Save
Then when the download is complete you will see an option to open it or to open the folder where the file was downloaded.
Click Open Folder
You should see a file called lxfreejava.zip. Right click the file and choose "Extract All"
Accept the default location and you should then see a file called InstallLXFreeForJava. Double-click that file.
You will see a security warning. Click Run.
The installer should run and you will get a message that says something like "Do you want the following program to make changes to this computer."
Click Yes
LXFree for Java should be installed and start running.
