A few questions about tracking...

Post by freadZdead »

Hi there,

Is there a way to print/copy/export the information of a track sheet either directly or as a csv?

Tried to print, but it's greyed out; Copy&Paste into Excel did not work either for me.

The other questions are the following:

A) switching tracking on/off - is this a non-destructive, automated process? i.e. will switching this permanently change/delete information if you have programmed a show without tracking?

B) When using tracking mode, what happens to referenced Groups? Will levels track? Will the inclusion of the reference track? Will it not track at all?

Thaaaanks :).
Cheers,

Freddy

Simply switching to tracking mode does not cause all the cues to update. Cues are updated when you use the Cue=>Update All Cues command or when they are visited either in Live or Cues mode. So, just switching to tracking will not change your cues. However, shortly after switching to tracking, you will probably do something that will cause an update and that's where unexpected tracking might happen.

Selecting Cue=>Update All Cues in cue only mode will set the marks in each cue to reflect the difference with the previous cue. Doing this prior to switching to tracking mode will insure that you don't get unexpected tracking.

If you include a group in a cue, the included channels will track when the cue is updated. as if those channels were set at that level in the cue. Cues are updated first for tracking and then for included groups. So, an included group level will override a tracked level from the previous cue.

You are correct that you cannot print the track sheet. However, in the latest build, 3.1.6 (6529A) you can use File=>Save As to export a csv file.

Brilliant, immensely helpful - now, I can build a spreadsheet that analyses and suggests Groups :)....
