So do I. But rather than for last minute changes I´d prefer to see it in the sidebar to the main window where times are edited.I think it would be useful to have an editable field in the live playback window so that the "next" cue can be edited there

The version I run 1.3.1 also has a view called Cue list. That view together with the one called "track sheet" gives you the ability to edit times and channel levels of a cue in what could be called "blind mode".
The track sheet isn't the prettiest of designs but I assume it's primarily meant to be printed to paper/pdf for storage and distribution. When you have more than 100 channels it often requires some scrolling to find your data in the track sheet while the resizable main window can display all 512 at a glance.
A request could be a button in the track sheet and in the cuelist that opens the related cue in a new window more similar to the mainwindow and let´s you edit it there instead.
That would then display only one cue at a time to give a good overview of that, while the overview of all cues and the very nice ability to compare and edit them all would be lost in such a display.
However since one of the strenghts of LX console is it´s simple and easily understood interface I suggest such a window has a different background or something else that radically differs from the main window. The ability to have many different and similar windows in different modes can be confusing.
To the requestlist a real stop button could be nice, yes. One that stops and doesn't skip. A temporary stop that can be continued with the "Go" or "Back" button.
But that's all for another thread in this forum I guess.

The thing I don't like about how the cue list works is that it jumps the display straight to that cue and loads that cue as the next cue - useful I guess in some circumstances. But all I really want to do is edit a time in some cue that is coming up or has just gone past. The danger currently is that you lose track of what cue you are in - maybe some highlight function in the cue sheet to let you know what is playing.
Regarding the track sheet I wonder if it could take a tip from ETC - if you enter a channel number and press @ the track sheet jumps to that channel in the selected cue.
Is there some option to change the way the display shows the colour of channels moving - I don't like the red as it does not show me what is moving up and what is moving down.

As I understand it, ETC acquired the company that owned or partly owned AVAB. So Congo, which incorporates the technology licensed as a result, is essentially a descendent of the AVAB line.
If you read the introduction to LXConsole in the help, it explains that it was designed as an offline editing and documentation tool. The live output was originally added as a way of transferring cues to and from a console that did not have ASCII abilities. Once LXConsole could output DMX, it made sense to add a basic fade capability so it could at least function as a backup if not a low cost basic controller. But, the basic design was and is for offline editing.
The latest LXConsole adds a Live display/editing mode. In live mode, times that are edited through the command line apply to the current cue. So, if you just played a cue and want to alter the time, it is possible without switching to Cue mode. In Live mode, the drawer displays the information about the cue that is next in the list. Editing a time using the drawer in Live mode will change the time of the next cue.
Live mode is always live. Changes are always sent to the DMX output. Changes in Live mode also run the update script if it is enabled. All DMX input and output occurs through the Live cue. Because of this, the send to DMX script is unnecessary and has been eliminated.
Live mode requires using the command line to record a cue to the cue list. Cue mode retains direct editing as before. Changing a cue number in Cue mode, changes the number and moves the cue. In Cue mode you do not have to record a copy then delete the original to move a cue.

This sounds great, looking forward to see how it works!
And yes it´s true that ETC has one model that is based on the AVAB philosophy;
- The "Congo" is clearly influenced of that tradition., the others are not.
They have a nice and readworthy "White paper" describing this on their website:

Thanks for great support and all efforts with the great amount of updates that LXConsole has gone through in the last years. It´s truly impressive!
