I am setting up an Enttec DMX USB PRO and LXConsole using a brand new MacBook Pro (latest version of OSX Lion). Enttec's site reports that for newer Mac OSXs you do not need to install any drivers as they are already supplied by OSX; you merely need to plug and play.
Using the mac's System Information, I see that the mac is seeing the device and recognizes what it is, lists its serial #, etc.
In LXConsole Preferences, here is what I've got:
DMX Info shows "ENTTEC DMX USB Pro Widget:" and then a drop down menu with no choices. "Refresh List" has no effect. "Widget info" brings up a box that indicates "No Connection."
DMX Out shows DMX-USB Pro is selected. Universe is 0, subnet 0.
I have patched one-to-one and am in Live mode; but dimmers are not responsive. Not surprising since LXConsole shows no connection to the USB Pro--obviously this is where the problem lies.
What am I not doing? Is ENTTEC's statement that you don't need to install any drivers, false? Am I missing a setting?
Thanks for any help...
DMX USB PRO is seen by my Mac Lion but not by LXConsole?
With LXConsole, you do need to install the VCP drivers from FTDI. LXConsole does not use the D2XX drivers. You can download and install the VCP drivers here: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
