Effects linked to cues

Hi There,
I'm wondering if it's possible to link an effect to start with one cue and run clear through until it gets a stop command at another cue?
Many thanks!

Yes it is.
First create your effect and name it something. default is "Effect 1".
In cue mode go to the cue where you want to trigger it to start.
Open the side drawer and click the button: "Advanced"
This will change the content of the drawer.
In the bottom you will see a portalwindow showing a list of actions, which is probably empty.
Click the plus to insert an action.
It will enter an action called "none". Click on that "none" and choose one of the options available. Youll find effect start and effect stop in the valuelist.
When youve entered "effect start" you also have to tell it what effect its supposed to start so while you have your action row still marked then choose the "Edit..." button.
This will open a popup letting you choose from all of your effects.
-Pick one...
Thats it!
Then when you want to stop you go to that cue and do the same thing, but choose action "effect stop".
-
You then wont get the option to edit that and tell what effect to stop because LXConsole runs only one effect at any time. The "effect stop" action will stop that no matter which of your effects might be running at any given moment.
