When I get to a venue where they have no idea what is going on, I use OSC, Qlab and LXConsole to bring up each channel and start making a map of where things are. Then I go into the patch window and assign the info to channels.
I would love to skip a step and assign a patch to a channel via my iPad and a touchOSC command, button or field.
Can LXConsole receive that kind of info.
Thoughts.
PS: touchosc and the new lxconsole build are stable and amazing.

It is possible to add the ability to assign a patch from the command line. The "p" key is already assigned to "part:" and capital "P" is assigned to select Pan.
I've thought of using the backslash "\" or capital "K" or the pound sign, "#". Anyone have an opinion?
The key does not matter for OSC because you'll assign that in the TouchOSC layout using an address /key.lxconsole/# or whatever it ends up being. After you set it up, you won't have to think about it anymore.
The key will expand to the word "patch". You cannot type the word "patch" because as soon as you press "p" LXConsole thinks you mean "part:" and inserts that onto the command line. So, the key should be something that makes sense as a shortcut. You'll press that key and LXConsole will insert the word "patch:"

LXConsole v3.3.7 (7228A) is available as the latest build. This version adds the ability to patch from the command line using the "#"; key as a shortcut. The patch command will patch a single address to a single channel using the form patch:address@channel[enter]. A second "@" will patch the address at a level, patch:address@channel@level[enter]. If a dimmer check is active, patch:@channel[enter] will patch the current dimmer check address to the channel.
