Since there is already an effect start, effect stop, effect step action for cue's it would be very helpful to have an effect clear action as well.

Its not that hard to add a Effect Clear action. However, what would the purpose be? There is an option to clear the effect when it is stopped and that seems the most likely use. When would you clear the effect that is different?
I'm asking not because I don't want to add an action but to clarify the ultimate goal. It seems that now with multiple effects, that an effect should always clear when it is stopped. That would make everything simpler.

LXConsole 3.3.10 (7324A) is available as a latest build. It adds an effect clear action that can be triggered by a cue. It also adds a clear time to an effect. This means that an effect can be stopped. And then faded out at a later point. The new version also now saves the master level. Both the master level and clear can be controlled by MIDI/OSC actions.

Sorry I didn't respond earlier I was just finishing up a show.
That's awesome. I was relying heavily on effects for the last show I was working on and was just having trouble with clearing effects that did not have clear on stop checked off. I ended up just adding tons of repeat cues at the end of an effect sequence as a way to stop a cue without clearing it.
Does this also mean that the master level for effects can be controlled by a cue?

No, the master level for a cue can only be controlled by the Effects window or by MIDI/OSC. The master level control requires an additional parameter, either the velocity in the case of MIDI or a float argument in the case of OSC. You would only be able to set a static level for the effect master with a cue action.
You can set fade in and out times to dynamically control the master level of an effect when it is triggered by a cue action. And, additionally, you can now fade out a stopped effect by setting a clear time.
Is there a use for setting the master level of an effect (which would be a static level) with a cue action?
