For a theatre i am working for at the moment, we purchased a few 16bit capable led fresnels.
After a google search, i found a version history of lxconsole, which states:
January 23rd, 2013
2.4.16/2.5.16 (6022) adds support for 16bit device addresses and new recommended subchannel numbers.
Could someone tell me how to use this feature?
thanks in advance,
Boris

A 16 bit address uses 2 sub-channels. For example, a 16 bit control for "Red" has a "Red" sub-channel and a "Red (fine)" sub-channel.
It is currently necessary to add fine sub-channels using the setup window's channels tab. First add the main sub-channel to the list. Then select it and click the "+fine" button.
Once you have defined these in the setup window, you can use them to setup a channel. To do this, control-click the desired channel in the main display. You will see a popup menu with a "Setup Channel..." command. Choosing that command from the popup, will show a sheet that allows you to setup the sub-channels of the main channel.
Non-fine sub-channels can be added in the list in the channel setup sheet without first adding them to the setup window. It makes sense that a future version should allow you to also create fine sub-channels directly in the channel setup list.
