Trying to trigger a Effect via command line and to issues:

1. How do you type EFXstart:MyEffect into the command line.

When I do, nothing happens. it works via the effects panel.

You can't start and stop effects through the command line. You can start and stop effects through a cue, OSC or MIDI action. You define a cue action in the advanced tab of the main window's drawer. You define OSC and MIDI actions using the setup window.
