I'm pretty new to LX free, but one of my favorite features in MacLux is the ability to turn on the lights, and check the beam coverage, intensity, etc, for both single lights and combinations.
I love the idea of focus points - that'll simplify a number of things. But the beam-checking feature is key for me. Will that remain a part of MacLux, or will it be added to LX free eventually?
Adding beams / footcandles ?

The plan for the LXSeries definitely includes being able to display beams. This will be included in an advanced version of LXFree called LXBeams.
Unlike MacLux Pro, the cueing portion will be split off into a separate application. LXBeams will be able to display the beams of a cue but will remain centered around the plot itself.
The idea is that the LXSeries not revolve around a single monolithic application that attempts to include everything (and the kitchen sink).

Yeah! Well, I'll be waiting for that, and keep using MacLux in the meantime.
