Key entry

Post by lanternz »

Still having issues with the equipment count forgetting numbers (issue discussed in gobo entry topic). I entered inventory numbers for Selecon Pacific profiles and Rama fresnels. All was going well in the inventory count as I worked through a transfer drawing from one venue to a new venue. As I swapped out S4 units for Acclaim profiles I deleted unused instruments from the key as I completed a system swap. At one stage I inadvertently dropped the wide angle Acclaim from the key. I reloaded the Selecon key and replaced the single unit that I had dropped. The equipment count has now lost the inventory count for all other Selecon units, even though they were not deleted from the key.

When a key is loaded, it replaces any properties of existing entries. This allows for updating a key with new information. Unfortunately, this means that properties that have been customized, like an inventory number, are also replaced.

In order to allow for updating while also giving the option to preserve existing properties, LXBeams will now ask before replacing properties. And, this updating behavior can be modified in the preferences so that it always or never replaces properties.

This is available in the latest build 3.0.5 (7528).
