Importing PDF Windows 8.1 to LX Free for Java

Hi I've been trying to import a PDF lighting plan into LX free with no result. I've followed the FAQ advice to select the file, select copy, go to LX free and select paste but nothing happens.
I'm currently using windows 8.1 and LX free for Java version 1.1.2 (6102A)
Is there a different way of doing this or am i just being incredibly dense?

Unfortunately, there is no way to import a PDF into LXFree for Java. The only graphics formats that can be imported are those supported by the operating system. PDF is not supported natively by Windows. You can use some other application to convert the PDF into a JPG or TIF or PNG and those files should be able to be imported into LXFree for Java.
