LX Console Crashing v3.2.8

Post by chbalo »

Hi There,

I've been using the latest build for the last week and now after working with the file earlier today, it's crashing constantly.

I tried using an older version and get a warning that it was created with an older version and that it might not work but it still crashes.

Is my showfile corrupt now?

Many thanks!

The file is backward compatible. The older version will just not have any added functions that the newer version has. So, because the older version does not know about these later things, it will not save them.

One recent example is the ability to designate a cue as "non-fade actions only". Earlier versions did not have this. So, if you had an actions only cue and saved a file with an earlier version, it would just be a regular cue. If you saved the file with the older version and re-opened it in the newer version, you would have to manually restore the cue to be actions only.

Please e-mail any information about when these crashes occurred analog with any crash reports so that whatever the problem is can be fixed for others.

This issue is fixed in the latest build 2.3.9 (7006A) and is available for download.

The issue has to do with the notes window being open when a plot is saved. Then, the next time the plot is opened, an exception prevents completion of the opening process or a sometimes a crash. The issue has probably existed for quite a few previous versions but has gone unnoticed.
