The LXBeams v1.0.20 adds a couple of Ruby Scripts for use as SketchUp plugins.
This allows you to export most SketchUp models as .faces files which are used in LXBeams' model window.
There's a screen capture movie showing this at:

Note:
Originally these plugins worked with .triangles files. This format was replaced by .faces in LXBeams v1.1.7. A .triangles file can be converted to a .faces file simply by changing its extension.

The plugin is now found in the "/Applications/LXSeries Pro/SketchUp Plugins" folder (moved from "/Library/Application Support/lx/models/SketchUp Plugins") in the LXSeries Pro latest build.
Drag the plugins from there to the /Library/Application Support/Google SketchUp 7/SketchUp/plugins folder and restart SketchUp
If you have SketchUp 7, there's an alias to make this easy...

But I can´t find that Sketchup plugin you use to export to the .triangle format.
Do I need a licensed Sketchup instead of the free version perhaps?

The file extension for 3D surfaces used by the model window has been re-named to ".faces" it has not been called ".triangles" for a while. (The demo movie on the website shows an older version of LXBeams and SketchUp)
The plugins for SketchUp are installed using the LXBeams->Install Extras command.
LXBeams will attempt to place the plugins into the library in the correct location. But, this location has changed over time as newer versions of SketchUp have come out. Currently LXBeams searches for locations for SketchUp 8 and SketchUp 2014. If these are not found, you can specify another location for the plugins (which requires knowing where that is for your version of SketchUp).
