Just a few options that would be nice
For the sake of workflow, I would like an option not to default back to the selection tool every time a symbol is added in the workspace. This would be nice for those adding many fixtures at a time. I would also love to see some keyboard shortcuts, at least for the tools in the toolbar. Even better if those shortcuts could be customizable.
Can you please post which version of the software you are using and inquiring about?
LXFree/LXBeams allow you to lock a tool so it does not select after drawing. You do this by double-clicking the tool.
You can also press the keys 1,2,3,4, etc. to select tools. In order for this to work, the drawing pane needs to have keyboard focus. The easiest way to do this is to simply click in the drawing area. Depending on what the sequence of things you do with the application, the keyboard focus will shift. Its most likely that it shifts to one of the interface elements in the Inspector.
It may be possible to add a customization for associating keys to tools so you can pick your own in the future.
