Hello,
My application constantly freezes, and a rainbow circle appears...
After about 20 seconds the application works again, but then freezes again.
I use macbook pro with OS 10.15.7 and LXfree 5.9.4

Generally when that happens the application is autosaving the file and the file is complex or contains large elements. Large, complex imported PDFs are one example that take a while to save and cause the beach ball to appear. That's probably the most common cause. But there are others, such as converting images into symbols and then using a lot of them. You can turn autosave off or adjust the interval in the preferences which will reduce the unexpected delay every time it kicks in.
You may consider saving the file in the Mac-only binary format. Sometimes this will reduce the save time depending on what it is exactly in the file that is resource intense. Turning the preview quality to "none" might help as well ( File / XML tab of the preferences).
